Mothers' day news from the mission, President Day wants us to organize this early--If you would all be together Sunday night (in US), we can call Monday morning (here) probably... and temple day is coming up (May 13th) so that week I'll email on wednesday, not monday.... :) Other business and thoughts and invites...: I don't think Matt will be biking, But if anyone out there is going to serve in a biking mission, just pay for the bigger, nicer bike (if you're tall that is). Dad, I'm so greatful we chose it. it was definitely worth it, and SOOOO great. It's still living! This week was fantastic! I read D&C 109:22-23 lately and after stake conference about member missionary work , it had a whole new meaning. Yes there are missionaries bringing the gospel to all the world, but it's really the members in that area that keep it and spread it, and strengthen the gospel EVERYWHERE! It is so awesome, we have a great life. We saw a cool miralce on exchanges with a Sister who's been in Taiwan for a week! We exchanged right after the mission tour, and that night we went to find an LA, she wasn't home, so we decided to contact in the area for a bit. We talked to a lady, she invited us into her house, and we taught the first lesson, including the first vision (Sister Parkin was able to share) and invite this JM to baptism. I think it was really great for Sister Parkin to see that you really can teach lesson 1 "on the street". It was really cool. She is still soaking everything in, you know, that first week-second week daze. :) | Sister Howell is great, she really wants to do well, to be the best, most obedient missionary she can be. We have had so much fun together raising our vision towards heaven and we've seen opportunities given to us that are amazing! Most of our numbers (which were very low two weeks ago) are all almost to the standards of excellence. Our goal is to get them there and exceed or at least keep them on a weekly basis, not to drop back any time soon (if EVER!). we've been discussing and studying the grace and enabling power Christ's atonement, it truly is AMAZING. Well, this work is true. It really is. We have don'e so so much this week. You wouldn't believe, every second of everyday just planned adn the plans of course change, we're fang-ed, people cancel, and move times, but the Lord really moves everything around for us adn when I really just trust that everything will be okay and follow the Spirit, those are the days we reach our goals adn feel so amazed and satisfied at the end of the day (also usually the most tired too...) Love you all! Keep doing good and serving daily! Read, pray, go to church, and everything will work out. Love, Sister Smith |
