Transfer: from N.E. Taipei, Taiwan to N.w. Taoyuan!Well family, the day finally came. After almost 10 months in Taiwan Taipei, I moved! Yep, officially moved into Nankan, Taoyuan, Taiwan. my new companion, | New challengesIt hasn't been all easy and smooth, the first couple days were hard. It was So hard to leave WanDa family and members and investigators, and my apartment and area I new forwards backwards inside out. The first day I felt frustrated and almost like I was back in training which I didn't like. I thought, I've already trained someone else, I know how to call members and set up peikes, I know how to do it, but I felt trapped almost because I didn't know what to do, and to add to the stress, I'm a Sister training leader with Sister Miller, my new companion. So I have to start getting used to caring for the Sisters, planning exchanges and going to meetings as well as setting up meetings with all the recent converts and less active members, and investigators AND Nankan (my specific area in taoyuan) has hills. So basically I felt slow because I'm using another missionary's bike temporarily, on hills my body is not used to, living out of a suitcase, not in a normal routine, don't know anything, and just remembering the feeling of KNOWING and feeling comfortable...... BUT NOW I'm LOVING Nankan. I'm really quickly getting to know members, the sisters in our zone are AWESOME! and I am getting used to, and more confident in following the Spirit in a lesson setting. I love it here. love it. and, I love my new companion! Sister Miller is great, she has been helping me out learn the area, pointing out streets, and helping me meet a ton of people. She really knows the area, (been here for 5 transfers) so it's awesome! I love about being with Sister Miller, we SYL(speak your language) a lot and so I feel like my Chinese will really improve. She has been Sister Training Leader here for a while too so she is used to it and is helpng me figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do. Anyway, long story short, I love my area, I'm learning a lot and still don't know a lot of things, but it'll be nice to grow in this way and put my whole all into this area and ward. We went to the temple today and I saw a brother Jiang from WanDa and then afterward when we were going to lunch we ran into two cute sisters from WanDa going to o Family history and (they are adorable) they went and bought snickers (they knew I love snickers) and FOUND the burger place we just ate at and gave them to me. Too adorable huh? I love them, and miss them emmensely, but I really really do love Tao 3 ward. LOVE it. And it's getting better everyday! I'm excited to continue sharing experienes with ya'll from this miraculously prepared island of Taiwan. I'm guessing I'll "die" (end mission) here in Taoyuan because Sister Miller goes home in a couple transfers. I'm really happy. I'm so so happy we are an eternal family and that this gospel is true. I know the Lord wanted me in WanDA for that time, and I know He wants me here now, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm in this particualy area for, but I'm sure I'll firgure it out. The church is true! The members all over the world aren't perfect, but we're all striving to become like Christ. I know He lives and will come again. I'll write this Monday! Love, Sister Smith |
