Nothing crazy happened this week but we saw SOOOOOOOOOO many miracles. (Like always---- Heavenly Father just loves us a lot!) Some really exciting things are happening in Taiwan, if you could keep praying for the strength of missionaries and the Spirit to lead the members... really cool miracles can happen! This week Sister Miller and I also saw some cool miracles, especially with RCs (Recent Converts) and temple square tours. Saturday, I just really felt led by the Spirit and we were able to run into a cute lady who wanted to learn about the church, and was willing to meet with missionaries and said she'd be willing to be baptized. It was so cool! We also found an awesome new investigator. We had about 2 hours to contact and we prayed that we could have power and the Spirit to be led and know what to say and the FIRST person we talked to was a cute college student who set up an appointment for next Sunday! So cool, huh? Our Filipino RC is doing awesome, he actually has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying everyday and next week will pass the sacrament in church. He's actually doing more steadily than his member friends. They used to be inactive at church, now they come! They are worthy priesthood holders, but they don't read the Book of Mormon each day so we're working on encouraging them.... I think Elgine, the RC is really affecting them for good. | I just love our life! This week we've been talking about motivation and diligence and have set goals and plans to both be more diligent and work hard. I'm not just doing this for my sake, I'm really becoming aware of my focus and actions so as to help encourage Sister Miller and help her feel like she is doing her best and sprinting to the end. She "dies" in 4 weeks! I'm really grateful I get to be her companion, I've learned and am learning a lot from her example! I've decided I'm tired of talking and listing things I want to change, and am determined to make a plan and stick to that plan... it's been really great so far. My heart feels lighter, like I'm leaning more on Christ than my own ability. I'm really really blessed. I don't know what I did to deserve what Heavenly Father has given me, but He loves us so much.... have you ever thought about that? He loves us SO much, and not just quantity, but a perfect quality of love. It's awesome! I LOVE the Book of Mormon. LOVE it. Isn't it amazing? Lately I've been reading in Alma and their experiences are so cool, and inspiring. They were rejected, thrown into prison, spit upon and mocked, but they still trusted in the Lord and prayed for His guidance. I think I've been reminded lately that even the most obedient, righteous, diligent missionaries will run into challenges and hard times, but they will keep the Lord and their purpose in the forefront of their minds and actions. I've loved the feeling the past few days of focusing on inviting people to baptism and trying to use the Book of Mormon in every teaching opportunity. In our English class, we handed out 9 copies of the Book of Mormon! (Because we shared the first half of Alma 47 and ended right after Lehonti is poisoned and dies by Amalickiah... then we told them they could take the book home and finish the chapter if they wanted.... everyone took it. How cool?!?) LOVE IT!!! Also, my dislike of hashtagging has changed to loving it after seeing the cool hashtags we can use on FB for church posts or General Conference. Love it! Dig deep and pray hard! Have a great week!! ~Sister Smith #LDSConf #BecauseofHim #BeingaMissionaryROCKS! |
