Mother's editorial note: only 3 more weeks/emails to go!I love living here in NanKan and serving with sister Howell. We have the best life ever! Well, this week started off eventful with Sister Howell getting sick on Tuesday but on Wednesday she was well so we set out and worked hard. This week I've been having some realizations seems to sink into my soul. It's all stuff my brain has known, but this week my heart started to drive my actions to do use it as effectively as I could and we saw so many miracles! We didn't go on exchanges this week because of the illness and then MLC but we have a few this coming week which we're excited about. We are really hoping and planning on inspiring the sisters to give their all to the work and their all to the Lord to help them realize the burden they are putting on themselves can be released. And to keep them working hard towards the 1 +1 (help to people receive baptism) for June. I believe we all can do it! Quick miracle, we were contacting when Sister Howell felt impressed to talk to (using her words) "that Anime gangster". So we walked over and I recognized him! He had met with me and Sister Miller once before but wasn't interested in setting up again. So we talked to him and asked if he'd be willing to meet with us the next day and this time he said yes! Long story short, he is our newest baptismal date investigator who (by using all 5 parts of the How to Begin Teaching section stuff (PMG ch.10)) knows we want to meet with him twice or three times a week and said he'd come to church next Sunday. Following Preach My Gospel really works!! | It was really cool. And Sunday night we came back from a dinner with a member and had like 30 mins, and I can't describe how much my body kept saying, just go home, call some people, report on time and then you can finish planning by 9:30, etc... but something in my mind just kept saying, you know you need to contact, you know you should be at this street right now.... Really. I did not want to contact and I don't know why, because usually I'm excited to do it. So I told my companion because she could see something was up, but we decided to go to the place we had chosen the night before, prayed, and started.... rejection, ignore(i'll tell you, it was a solid, we didn't exist ignoring and we just had to laugh afterward because we stand out so much here in taiwan), and after about 10 min. we saw a lady across the street, decided to talk to her, guess what? She is our newest investigator, Ruby. She is so cute and when we gave her the Book of Mormon she said, ok, what should I read for next time? Then after she prayed she felt like she hadn't done well and said, don't worry, I'll practice before next time. WHAT? Amazing huh? And then I thanked Heavenly Father, even though I had a lazy attitude to start, He allowed us to find the person we needed to that night. and after the first couple minutes, I felt better and got into it... it's really true what they say, just forget yourself and go to work! Well, I love my life, what more can I say? Hope you all have a great week and keep remembering to read the scriptures, and pray, and attend church! And serve, and do all those good things. It's no coincidence all the blessing you recieve when you do those things! Love you so much! Love, Sister Smith Three Generations |
