Okay...um, I really just do class and eat all day. My life is not too exciting to describe, but it IS super spiritual! If you ever have 10 minutes in your day, just go to lds.org and look up some of the Mormon messages, or if you have a little more time, watch a conference talk. It is amazing what those 10-20 minutes can do for your whole day!
Also, I would like to challenge all of you: Reading the BOOK OF MORMON is great. Filling your personal quota of 10 verses or a chapter a day is great. But if you really want to find answers and comfort and build your testimony of the divinity and reality of of Christ, study this book. Write down a problem or concern you have...better yet, write down a concern a friend is having, then think about it, how they must feel, what they need? Then open the Book of Mormon. Read it's message with that person in mind, all while asking yourself, "How can this help my friend?" "How can this help my need?" The Book of Mormon is the word of God. The Book of Mormon brings the fullness of the gospel to the earth...to us! You have in your possession right now, the key to the gospel of Christ, the key to faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost. That is the key to enduring to the end. I know that this book was divinely brought about for us! We ask God all the time for things, for gifts, miracles, blessings, answers, however, we need to remember one of the greatest gifts we can always see, hold, and turn to, is the Book of Mormon.
Phone vs hard copy:
I know it is infinitely more convenient to read it on your phone. I agree, if you're in a long line, or a waiting room, the phone is the way to go. But what if, at least for your personal study, you held the book in your hand? Try it. Touch it. I know that if you ask God to guide you to help others and increase their faith in the love God has for them, He will lead you. You WILL feel the power as you hold this book.
I don't get to talk about the Book of Mormon much in detail on a daily basis because for the Chinese culture, who are primarily Buddhists, we have to teach that God is real. That He sent His son to earth, and that we can be saved by following His gospel. Then after all that we can testify of the Book of Mormon (as much as our vocabulary will allow). SO I HOPE YOU ALL TREAT THE BOOK OF MORMON WITH LOVE, AND USE IT! :)
I just love this gospel-faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
Thank you all for your prayers for me and my companion. I love it here! Thanks for using DEARELDER.COM while I'm in the MTC (until March 25th) it's free and it's a great system. Something cool happen this week? Type it up and they print it off and deliver it to my mailbox that day! Letters are the greatest brain rest from studying.
Wo ai nimen!
Much love, Sima Jiemei
