The Halloween party was a success, some missionary's said it was the best English activity they've been to (probably because this one involved large amounts of candy :) haha). Kids came in costumes and we had a pumpkin face drawing contest, made "haunted trees" (which were a hit, like a crowd favorite... apparently you can't find little ants or spiders like that around here, they were all in awe). Then we had a table set up with Restoration tracts and BOMs and one of the Elders actually ended up explaining about the Restoration to one of the people who came. It was so fun! Then the spiritual thought was about the Holy Ghost. So thank you for your help on that!! I'm sure the Thanksgiving package will come. Marshall, Matt, your birthday presents are coming with the Christmas package so.... sorry it'll be a little late :) I'm excited for the week ahead of us. NEXT WEEK BTW, IS TEMPLE DAY SO I WILL EMAIL ON WED. INSTEAD OF MONDAY. DON'T BE ALARMED :) This week was awesome! We saw so many miracles, especially with working with members, 10 peikes is the most I've ever had in one week, and it was all because of the Ward mission leader, not us. We set up appointments and told the ward missionaries when they were, and they had members calling us to work. Now, also, when we visit members and we're leaving they'll sometimes say, "Ok, I can work with you these days if you need," and it helps so much because then we can not be calling at the wrong times and annoying people and they can have the chance to help us! It's awesome! I'm amazed at how I've seen the work hasten and the ward hasten right along with it, that is one really cool thing about being in a place for a while, you can see the growth! It's so cool! We really tried to set baptismal dates this week and the two exchanges we had really helped, I think. It is great as I've been focusing more on allowing | Sister Morris to teach, testify, invite, etc., but those exchanges where someone else was actively searching and asking for baptism dates and to set up was also very nice. I learned a lot and have started being more bold in asking people when to set up instead of just exchanging numbers. Our companionship has gotten closer this week, I've started helping her more during language study and we've felt a change as (she says) she's "allowed" me to help, which is all I want to do!! I just want to help her all the time and help her have a good experience and learn... I'd imagine this is kind of what parents feel like. :) Well, I love her, and as always there are challenges and easier times and harder times, but as we've had patience and turned together to the Lord, we've seen so many miracles! She's getting more used to riding in a skirt, and it's been so nice we haven't had much rain!! Studies have been pretty good too, I love learning from the District videos and the training program. We've been blessed with people to teach, and to prepare for. I'm working on organization though. That is one gift I was not blessed with and I'm going to have to keep working really hard to change that part of my personality, because I don't really like it, but it is okay. We are keeping things clean and updated and the Spirit is helping me remember things. I forget all the time but the Spirit (as I allow it to lead me and my thoughts) helps me and us make decisions and get places. I love serving here in DaTong, Taipei and we are sooooo excited to be in the choir! We love singing together (that's another thing, we started singing more this week), so we are super happy for the opportunity to share the gospel through music. Love, Sister Smith |

During studies lately I've started the New Testament and I've for so much comfort in PMG and the Book of Mormon. I'm excited to develop my testimony of the Bible and understand more about Christ. I'm just loving being on a mission and particularly the journey to becoming a Preach my gospel missionary. I've lately set a goal to think about and use what I found in personal study throughout the day. Trying to everyday remember what I learned and apply. It's a long road, but Christ will help us accomplish all He commands us to do. The time is now! People are ready! There are people willing to hear the gospel and the Lord will help us find them.
Time's up. Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Sister Smith give you numbers, and really trying to balance out the finding and teaching with retaining and activating. My goal is to always be finding new ways to find people so we don't ever go back to 5-7 hours on the street each day... that's not effective missionary work. I have a better understanding now though of what we can do to help find, teach, baptize, retain, and activate. I'm so grateful I have
