Wednesday morning I said final farewell's to brothers, Matt and Marshall, as they headed to school. I loaded my luggage into the car which Mason, Aunt Anna And Grandpa Smith had decorated with the words, "Best Wishes Elder & Sister Smith (cousins)!" My parents, younger brother, Mason, and my cousin Elder Smith caravanned with grandma Lu and Aunt Anna to Provo. We attended a temple session in the Provo temple, followed by lunch at the Brick Oven (missionaries eat FREE!) which my dad Milked since we had two missionaries in our party, and finally the time for drop off arrived! I stepped out of the car to be greeted by a sister missionary who I quickly learned is headed to my same mission in TAIWAN, then turned to a familiar voice declaring, "Sister Smith!" It was my high school Student Body President and choir friend, Elder True DeMill. My parents took it as a comforting sign from the Lord, "She's in my hands now." Without tears or much fanfare, Elder Smith and I anxiously grabbed our bags and headed in to our new adventures beginning at the long awaited MTC. He will leave in two weeks for Charlotte, North Carolina, and I will study Mandarine chinese here until March 26th!
